Just months after trying their hand at the over decade-long tradition, the ICA Boston has joined forces with the SOWA district galleries to throw what they’re calling a "citywide First Friday". And as a subtle reminder that none of us are getting any younger they’ve christened this month’s activities First Fridays: Back to School.
To mark the occasion, the ICA will offer guest DJs, live performance, curator-led tours of their permanent collection and Dianna Molzan exhibition and special “Back to School appletinis” which will be served to evoke our old college days when we all used to drink appletinis. At 9pm there will be an outdoor projection of Masters of the Universe, a short film related to the Josiah McElheny exhibition. Tickets are free for ICA members and $15 for non-members. 21+ only.
Over at 450 Harrison Ave. the SOWA galleries are FREE and open to the public of all ages, as always. There will also be free trolley transportation available so visitors can easily navigate between the two locations. Trolleys will depart from the ICA and 450 Harrison Ave. every 30 minutes between 6-8:30pm.
No word yet on if these two will continue their partnership for future events.
To make the night even more exciting, the Big Red & Shiny team will be out roaming among the people. Feel free to stop us to say hello!
