This month's #FirstFriday is filled with food and drinks starting with the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston.
The theme for the ICA's #FirstFriday is Mixology. The evening will be dedicated to the art of the craft cocktail with some of the city's best bartenders on hand for cocktail-making demonstrations. General admission tickets are sold out, but if you are an ICA member tickets are available online or by phone. The Museum of Fine Arts Boston also hosts its MFA First Friday event tonight from 5:30-9:30pm, featuring DJ Rich diMare. Tickets available online through their website or in person at the museum. Both events are 21+.
Tonight on El Dia de los Muertos/Day of the Dead, Spoke Gallery at Medicine Wheel Productions is presenting 'A Rainbow Ritual to Honor All Souls- A Participatory Arts Ceremony’ by Gail A. Burton in conjunction with the Terrain exhibition also at Spoke Gallery. 7:00PM at MWP 100 K Street, South Boston.
As always, the SOWA District art galleries (450 Harrison Street) will be open with new and continuing shows from 5:30pm-8pm. The SOWA galleries are FREE and open to the public of all ages. Of note there, Ambreen Butt is the subject of a solo exhibition at Carroll and Sons Gallery, Victoria Fu's work will be at Samsøn, and Michael Krueger's exhibition opens at Steven Zevitas Gallery.
Best of all, the Big Red & Shiny team will be out on the town tonight! If you are a Twitter fanatic, look out for the #FirstFriday hashtag. Make it a point to spot us in the crowd and say hello!
