Each spring there are many college professors who retire in Boston and Cambridge, but few have had such a high profile in the arts for such a long period of time as Charles Giuliano. It is with mixed feelings that we report that Charles will be retiring from The New England School of Art And Design at Suffolk University.
Why mixed feelings? Well, Charles will no longer be in charge of the gallery at NESAD, which has shown a wide variety of great shows under his directorship, not to mention inciting a little controversy. That said, Charles will not disappear, as he plans to retire to the Berkshires, where he has already established Berkshire-Arts.com, which is flourishing.
Giuliano’s time at NESAD will be honored by the exhibition “Charles Giuliano: Last Call, a Retrospective” which runs from May 18 to June 28, 2007.
Charles has been a regular columnist at Big RED & Shiny since our twelfth issue, and we wish him nothing but the best. Our archive currently boasts 96 pieces written by or featuring Charles! Continue to look for his columns here, as well as at his own Maverick-Arts and his journal Berkshire-Arts.
