By Matthew Nash

One of the unsung heroes of Big RED & Shiny is James Manning. He is our most frequent contributor of on-the-town photos, somehow managing to attend nearly every exhibition, opening and art event that is accessible by MBTA. If I had to guess, I would say his diet consists entirely of carrot sticks, cheese cubes and cheap wine.

This issue, Jim has teamed up with Rob Coshow in an effort to photograph every event of the Boston Cyberarts Festival. This issue features a number of their images, taken all around the city in the first few days of the festival. More are sure to follow, as the Cyberarts website currently lists 85 events and there is still a lot to see.

So, as you head out to see all of the great sights and experience the diversity of art/tech hybrids Boston has to offer, look out for Jim and Rob. They'll be there, taking pictures that may end up on Big RED. Throw yourself in front of their camera if you need to!

Of course, you can always send us your own pictures via our Submissions page. Show us your perspective on these events, and who you hang out with to talk about art.
