Luther Price is hot shit these days... cue list of credits. He's also an artist with remarkable discipline, dedication and modesty who lives and works in a small beach-front cottage in Revere. So his recent trip into the limelight should really remind all artists that these are qualities to be nurtured.

Tara Nelson is a film-maker, living and working in Boston, who was invited to attend the prestigious, and not a little mysterious, Flaherty Film Seminar earlier this year. She, like Luther, attended MassArt and even took a class with him while studying for her MFA.

For Issue One of the new BR&S Journal, Tara has interviewed Luther. Tara and Luther..........has a nice ring to it. Their shared passion and knowledge of experimental film makes the conversation a rich one. To top it off, one of Luther's works has been digitized for publication in our inaugural issue — a rare, very rare occurrence and an immense honor for us lowly Big Red editors.

Luther Price will be showing both an installation of handmade slides and film loops at Boston’s Studio Soto, in collaboration with Mobius, titled THE SOUND OF SINGING THROUGH DUST and opening this coming Saturday 13 October with a night of screenings.
Don't miss the man, present during gallery hours, or his work.

Watch a short video interview made on the occasion of his participation in the last Whitney Biennial.
