OUR NEW LOOK: FINDING YOUR WAY AROUND
by BIG RED

It’s our birthday and we’ve had our fill of cake, presents and cocktails. What we really want here at Big RED & Shiny is a vibrant, viable art scene in Boston. Since 2004, this provocative, pink website has been your independent, upstart source for news, reviews and dialogue on contemporary work. We’ve published 124 issues, covered hundreds of exhibitions, and offered artists and patrons insight into the minds of the individuals shaping the contemporary scene in New England.

Six years is a long time for any website like ours, and we're incredibly proud of what we've accomplished. Over 1600 articles, reviews, interviews and columns, hundreds of blog posts, thousands of tweets, and tens of thousands of pictures. As our loyal readers, you've been with us through our growing pains, and now we want to thank you with a new and improved Big RED & Shiny.

This Valentine’s Day, we’ll celebrate our sixth birthday by introducing a whole new Big RED & Shiny website. Today, February 14th 2010, we’re launching this streamlined design with a ton of new features, including an improved, searchable Listings section, accounts to manage your BR&S postings, a better archive, and much more. Check out the links to the right for more detailed information about our new features. We’re starting 2010 with renewed focus and commitment to spotlighting the very best contemporary works around town.
