ARTADIA ANNOUNCES 2007 AWARDS

Last week the Artadia Boston 2007 first round awards jury convened to review more than 670 applications. The rigorous selection process included Pieranna Cavalchini, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Mark Masuoka Director and Curator at the Bemis Center for the Arts in Omaha, Nebraska, and Anne Pasternak, Artistic Director of Creative Time in New York.

The fifteen Boston 2007 Artadia Awards finalists are: S.A. Bachman of THINK AGAIN, Hannah Barrett, Gerry Bergstein, David Binder, Denise Marika, Jane Marsching, Helen Mirra, The National Bitter Melon Council, John Osorio-Buck, Vaughn Sills, Mary Ellen Strom, Stephen Tourlentes, Jeff Warmouth, Douglas Weathersby, and Xiaowei Chen.

Artadia, the fund for art and dialog provides substantial financial support, critical validation and broader public exposure for artists across the country. Awards are given with no restrictions and amounts ranging from $1500-$15000. Those listed above have been shortlisted and a final round of judges will determine the ten that receive the final money.
